What a wonderful message is being sent to the world today at this sacred time of EASTER
Imagine just for moment that GOD actually did visit us (just like the song says "if god was one of us"). He came to the world as a man, equal to us in his Humanity but equal to God in his Divinity. But his golden message of meekness and humbleness was rejected by this world, by the men & women of his time, so they nailed him to a Cross. They actually drove nails into his hands and feet and raised up for all to see. And they spat on him made fun of him. They felt that they did not need him, and so it came to pass that the Creator of all things on earth and in heaven was crucified, bled and died on a wooden cross.

You know it is really no different today.  If you just stop and take a good look at the whole world and the way that it is today, from the type of shows on TV bristling with violence and obscenity, to the decay in decency and respect shown by almost everyone you meet including a big number of our youth. This message of meekness, kindness, love for fellow man, love for God is still rejected, and so Jesus is nailed to the cross every day by the way this world is.

But the good news is that Jesus died, but on the third day rose from the dead!
Think about it, he bled so much that water came out of one of wounds at the very end after he had passed away, but on the Sunday following his death he rose again under his own power.
And he stayed on earth as a man for a long period after this appearing to his friends time and time again, sometimes even eating in front of them (to prove he was living flesh and blood and not a "ghost").

So the message is that death does not have the final say. Despite what they had done to him by murdering him on a cross, he came back to life and did not remain dead, and so today we can take heart that no matter what the world (ie: what we) do to him, he will remain alive and wait for us to turn to him and help us be better Dad's, Mums, Brothers, Sisters, Children, Uncles, Cousins....indeed better people!

Jesus actually said:  "Come to Me, you who are tired and overburdened, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn of Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart and you will find rest for your souls."

The living Jesus is saying this again to you...today!

I would like to take this opportunity to wish one and all a very Happy and Holy Easter day and may God Bless you and your families!
Edward Roose.
